Hi, I'm Grace!

Our Resources
Grace has been using a range of structured educational resources to support her learning across core subjects. She has been working through Key Stage 3 English, Maths, and History materials on Twinkl. In particular, she has been focusing on local history linked to York, which has helped make her learning more meaningful and relatable. This also supports a planned educational visit to York, where she will explore historical sites including York Castle and the surrounding old streets.
For language learning, Grace has been using Duolingo. She has chosen to study Chinese due to her interest in Chinese culture and is currently progressing through the second section of the course, developing her vocabulary and language skills.
Grace is also completing a forensics course through £2 Tuition Hub. This includes learning about trace evidence, evidence collection, simple scientific experiments, and an introduction to forensic techniques.
BBC Bitesize Grace has been using bbc bitesize for biology, maths, computer science and religious education and is working through the sections of each subject.
She also has access to the library, YouTube and a new MacBook computer was purchased for her using an educational grant for autistic people.
Every day learning
Grace is continuing to develop her confidence in everyday life skills through practical, real-world experiences. These activities include cooking, preparing ingredient lists, and using money during shopping trips to calculate costs and change. These tasks are helping her build independence, organisation, and numeracy skills in real-life contexts. She also takes responsibility for caring for a group of chicks, including building their enclosure, measuring and assembling their housing, and ensuring they are fed and watered daily. In addition, Grace has been studying animal habitats through her woodland topic and is currently raising caterpillars as part of her lifecycle studies, with the intention of observing them develop into butterflies. To support her learning at home, Grace has been provided with an Apple iMac through a disability charity, which has helped her access digital learning more effectively. A printer will also be added soon to further support her ability to complete and present work independently.
